Flanges

Oily wastewater comes from a wide range of sources, and all water in direct contact with oil contains oil. The floating oil recovery system is an integrated device for the recovery and separation of oil slicks (including petroleum, diesel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, transformer oil, animal and vegetable oils and fats, and other liquids with a specific gravity less than water) from wastewater, sewage, artificial or natural water bodies, coolants, and cleaning solutions. Applications cover energy, chemical, metallurgy, machinery, food, municipal, environmental protection, oil spill emergency management and other fields.

  • Oily effluents from mining operations and processes (distillation, cracking, stacking, coking, etc.) in oil fields, offshore platforms, refineries and petrochemical industries are concentrated in sump ponds, grease traps and sedimentation tanks. Using the floating oil recovery system to pretreat the concentrated oil-bearing wastewater can collect and separate the oil slick in the wastewater to the maximum extent, improve the treatment efficiency and effect, and reduce the cost of secondary treatment.

  • Oily wastewater from leakage and cleaning of oil pipelines and oil storage facilities in the oil storage and transportation industry, oily ballast water treatment of oil tankers.

  • Oily wastewater generated by leakage and cleaning of heavy oil depots, oil transmission systems, transformers, switching stations, steam turbine workshops in the power industry.

  • Machinery manufacturing industry oil cutting fluid and coolant oil removal treatment, workpiece cleaning, oil quenching heat treatment, electroplating and calendering and other processes produced oily wastewater treatment.

  • Treatment of oil-bearing emulsions in hot and cold rolling processes in iron and steel metallurgy industry. Continuous casting and wire drawing process, hydraulic system maintenance, swirling Wells, sewage ponds, regulating ponds oily wastewater treatment.

  • Pretreatment of sewage with higher oil content in municipal sewage.

  • Oily wastewater from the maintenance and dismantling of ships, automobiles, aircraft and mechanical equipment.

  • Oily wastewater containing animal and vegetable oils produced by food processing, grain processing and catering industries.

  • Oil spill emergency management and environmental protection treatment of offshore oil and other oil spill disaster emergency treatment.

  • Collection and treatment of oil slicks in various natural and artificial water bodies such as wharves, ports, lakes, rivers and reservoirs.

What is Floating Oil Recovery System?

Floating oil recovery system is also called oil spill recovery system or oil skimmer. It is an equipment system for collecting and separating surface oil slicks in wastewater, sewage, artificial/natural water bodies, coolants, cleaning solutions etc. There are many different kinds of skimmers depending on the application, from simple weir / suction heads to large offshore units. They can be categorized into weir type and oleophilic type (selective such as a drum skimmer).

MstnLand's floating oil recovery system is a skid-mounted integration oil slick recovery system. The whole system integrates floating skimmer, pump, oil-water separator and explosion-proof PLC controller. It’s a physical processing device based on the principle of laminar flow and gravity separation, and has complete oil slick collection, filtration and separation functions. It's an efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly oil slick recovery equipment.

How to Deal with Oil Slicks ?

The relationship between oil and water in a mixture is well-known and governed by two physical properties: Specific gravity, surface tension and affinity. Most hydrocarbons have a lower specific gravity than water. Without agitation, oil separates from the water and floats to the surface. Almost all oil slick collection devices rely on specific gravity, surface tension, and moving media to remove oil slicks.

MstnLand offers an integrated oil slick collection and separation device, and It uses the separation principle of laminar flow and gravity to collect oil slicks by means of overflow. It can effectively solve the technical problems such as limited oil collection range and thickness of the oil slick under the condition of the existing technology, and the failure of the oil skimmer caused by the suction of a large amount of air affected by the fluctuation of the water surface.

MstnLand floating oil recovery system main operating units include floating skimmers in the water and oil-water separators on shore. The oil slick collection process of the equipment system is: Oil slick collection → Filtration → Separation → Water discharge back to the water body → Oil discharge collection.

The floating skimmer floats on the water surface and is connected with the suction device. Through the function of the suction device, the collecting cylinder for collecting oil slicks sinks on the water surface to form the difference between the liquid level outside the collecting cylinder and the liquid level inside the collecting cylinder, resulting in an overflow layer from the collecting cylinder outside the collecting cylinder. When the suction flow rate is stable and the wave on the water surface is small, The thickness of the overflow layer remains stable under the balance requirements of the incoming flow rate and the discharge flow rate, so that the oil slick continuously and stably flows into the collection cylinder along the overflow layer to achieve the oil slick collection with large flow rate, high efficiency and low energy consumption. Regardless of whether there are waves on the water surface or whether the flow rate changes, the overflow layer always exists and the collection process is always established. The thickness of the overflow layer can be changed to adapt to the thinning of the floating oil layer, so as to maximize the collection efficiency and minimize the energy consumption.

Oil-water separator on shore, based on the negative pressure separation technology, the oil slick and part of the water are transported to the separation tank through the suction pipe at an appropriate flow rate. During the transportation process, the oil content basically avoids impact, agitation and fusion with water, and enters the separation tank in the form of large particle oil pellets or oil packages. Large particles of oil or oil can float up at a very fast speed, accumulate and then be automatically extracted to achieve continuous and rapid collection and separation of oil slicks.
