The principle of the flocculant is mainly to make the groups with positive (negative) electricity and some particles or particles with negative (positive) electricity in water that are difficult to separate close to each other, reduce their potential, so that they are in an unstable state, and use their polymerization properties to concentrate these particles and separate them by physical or chemical methods. Flocculant is widely used in the field of water supply and sewage treatment, according to its chemical composition can be divided into: inorganic salt flocculant, organic polymer flocculant and microbial flocculant three main types. Users choose appropriate flocculant types according to different wastewater properties.

Flocculation process is an indispensable key link in wastewater treatment process. Flocculation precipitation method is the selection of inorganic flocculant (such as aluminum sulfate) and organic anionic flocculant polyacrylamide (PAM) prepared into an aqueous solution into the wastewater, it will produce a compressed double electric layer, so that the suspended particles in the wastewater lose stability, colloidal particles coacervate each other to increase the particles, forming flocculants, alum flowers. When the flocculant grows to a certain volume, it is separated from the water phase precipitation under the action of gravity, so as to remove a large number of suspended solids in the wastewater, so as to achieve the treatment effect. In order to improve the separation effect, the coagulant aid can be added timely and appropriately. The treated sewage can basically meet the discharge standard in terms of chroma, chromium and suspended matter content. In the field of sewage treatment, as a key process to strengthen solid-liquid separation, it can be used to strengthen the primary precipitation of sewage, flotation treatment and secondary precipitation after activated sludge method, and can also be used for tertiary treatment or advanced treatment of sewage. The combined application of flocculant and wastewater treatment equipment in wastewater treatment industry has greatly improved the efficiency and effectiveness of water treatment.

Differences between Coagulants and Flocculants

The coagulation process refers to adding coagulant to the treated water after mixing and stirring, so that the colloidal particles in the water are destabilized, this treatment method is called condensation. Further by flocculation stirring, the unstable colloidal particles and other particles form flocculation, this physico-chemical process is called flocculation. Therefore, we can confirm that flocculation is only a step of coagulation, that is, coagulation = agglomeration + flocculation.

According to the role of chemical agents in the coagulation process can be divided into two types of agglomerants and flocculants, the two types of agents in the coagulation process respectively play the role of instability and flocculation, collectively known as coagulants.

Agglomerants are mostly water-soluble polymers with low molecular weight and high positive charge density, while flocculants are generally polymers with specific electrical properties and charge density.

Where To Buy Flocculant

MstnLand's composite flocculant not only has the characteristics of low cost and neutralizing charge of inorganic flocculant, but also has the adsorption and bridging coagulation effect of mechanical flocculant. At the same time, under the action of catalyst and coagulation nodule, the particles in the wastewater are combined to form a stable structure of double electric layer, so as to achieve the purpose of rapid settlement. It integrates the advantages of organic and inorganic flocculants and performs better than only using a single organic or inorganic flocculant. For refinery wastewater with high suspended matter content, small suspended particle size and high salt content, it has excellent treatment effect, and the removal rate of total suspended matter in wastewater can reach 99%.
