Definition for electric butterfly valve

The electric butterfly valve are common used in industrial pipeline, with characters of small volume,less material and less weight. It is more economical compared with other kind of valves. With electric actuator is easy for operation and can control the fluid well. When open the electric butterfly valve, the fluid will only receive the resistance from the disc once it passed the valve body, so the caused pressure just be a little. Such kind of valve can control the fluid sensitively and also can be used in large diameter pipeline, it has a lot of advantages. But it’s not suitable for particles and high temperature pipeline medium.

Definition for electric gate valve

The difference between the opening and closing parts of electric gate valve and butterfly valve is that the gate valve's opening and closing parts are gate plates. The gate plates just can be fully opened and closed, can’t adjust the fluid sensitively, so it just can be used to intercept the flow , not to adjust and throttle the flow.

Electric butterfly valve rotate from 0-90 degrees, with good flow characters, small size and cost-effective.
Electric gate valve has straight stroke control method of up and down motion, can be used to intercept the flow, big size and cost-expensive
Electric butterfly valve can not be used for high temperature and high pressure conditions, not wear resistant.
Electric gate valve can be used for closing the medium with particle, suitable for high temperature and high pressure working.
