Electric wafer butterfly valves control the switch rely on the power supply of the electric actuator, it doesn't have flange itself, so the valves body's thickness is relatively thinner, use a set of bolts through the bolt hole directly, clamp the butterfly valve between the flange and the two end sides of pipeline, then connected with bolts. Therefore, it is suitable for working in conditions with limited space and a short pipeline distance, such as sewage concentric butterfly valve. In high temperature, such valves' bolt expansion may cause leakage, so it was not advised to be used in high temperature conditions.
If you don't check the use manual and specifications carefully when you installed the electric wafer butterfly valves, such common malfunction could have appeared: the valves cannot reverse or reverse slowly; gas leakage; solenoid pilot valve has malfunction.
(1)The valves cannot reverse or reverse slowly, always caused by poor lubrication, spring stuck or damaged, oil stains or impurities stuck the carriage or something other reasons. So we should check if the lubricator can work normally for first, then check if the lubricating oil's viscosity is suitable. If necessary, we should change the lubricating oil, clean the valves' carriage parts, or change the spring and electric wafer butterfly valves.
(2)Once the electric wafer butterfly valves be used for a long time, the trim seal ring wear, stem and seat damage, will cause gas leakage, the valves cannot reverse or reverse slowly, and other malfunction. So we should change the seal ring, valves stem and valves seat, or change to a new electric wafer butterfly valve.
(3) If solenoid pilot valves' inlet and exhaust holes are blocked by impurities like oil stains & mud, or the sealing is not strict, or the core is stuck, or the circuit has faults and etc., all above will cause the electric wafer butterfly valves cannot reverse in general. Once faced with the first three situation, we should clean the pilot valves and impurities like oil stains & mud in core. For the last situation, the circuit's fault always has control circuit's fault and solenoid coil fault such two kinds.
Before checking the circuit's fault, should turn the manual knob for several times to see if the electric wafer butterfly valves can be reversed normally under the rated pressure. If it can be reversed normally that prove the circuit have fault. You can use the instrument to test the solenoid coil's voltage to see if reach the rated voltage. If the voltage is too low, the power supply in the control circuit and the associated switch circuit should be further checked.
If the electric wafer butterfly valves cannot be reversed normally under the rated pressure, we should check the solenoid coil's plug is loose or not. The checking way is: pull the plug off, measure the coil's resistance value. If the resistance is too large or too small, indicate that the solenoid coil has been damaged and should be replaced.
The new buying electric wafer butterfly valves should be installed in time once open the wooden case. The valves factory will always debug the valves first before shipping out, so we should not loosen the valves' accessories, if must you should check with the factory first.
